In 2021, the Youth Climate Alliance is ushering in a new era in the youth climate movement. We’re doing this by training thousands of young people to take bold, decentralized action directed at financial institutions. We’ve implemented a 3-part training program that will train activists on key skills and movement tactics.
In this six-week Political Education Series designed for young people, attendees will engage with information concerning the ways “big money” fuels the climate crisis. Organizers will be offered tools and resources on how to mobilize a shift in power within their respective communities, all in efforts to construct an economy that sustains and regenerates Earth’s natural resources for all walks of life.
With instruction from movement building experts, Political Education Series attendees will take a deep dive into climate finance, and identify the ways racial and social injustice contribute toward harmful environmental practices (including funding fossil fuel extraction). The Political Education training will discuss honoring Indigenous sovereignty and Indigenous folx calls for #LandBack as well as amplification of the needs of Black, Brown, and the various climate-vulnerable communities.
